As the headquarters city of choice for the energy industry, Calgary has been hit hard by the slumping price of oil. But Alberta’s biggest municipality is still filled with the hum of entrepreneurial activity, in no small part thanks to the city’s representatives on the 2016 PROFIT 500 ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies.

The 27 Calgary firms on this year’s ranking grew their revenues an average of 499% between 2010 and 2015, creating an additional 1,236 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs over that period. Collectively they employed 1,690full-time and 337part-time employees in 2015.
