What I found myself thinking about this year is there’s really only one sale that matters to your business: your final sale. The one where you exit.

Your brand, your culture, your reputation, your revenue—they all culminate in that one big transaction. So while you’ve got to be thinking about hitting your revenue numbers every quarter, you’ve also got to be building a business that creates value.

Ultimately, you’re going to capture that value if you do it well.”
